How do I know if I am eligible for a cellphone plan with BYU–Hawaii?

If you are a admin, faculty, staff, or retiree of BYU–Hawaii, you are eligible for a cellphone or watch plan with BYU–Hawaii.

How many lines can I setup?

Unlimited.

Do I need to identify if I am a admin, faculty, staff, or retiree?

If we aren’t able to identify your eligibility through our university system, we may ask for your BYUH ID card.

Am I able to setup data service only if I have my own phone?

Yes you can.

Which carrier do you provide service with?

AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon.

How can I see the phones you offer or setup a line without purchasing a new phone?

Click the Apply Here button at the bottom of the page.

Am I able to move to a different carrier within the BYUH Ohana?

Yes you can. Complete the request form for the carrier you want to move to.

If I change carrier, can I keep my number?

Yes you can.

I have a phone line and want to add a watch line, do I need to pay the non-refundable activation fee?

Yes. The non-refundable activation fee is for each new line of service.

What are your Cellphone hours?

Our cellphone hours change each semester based on the students schedule. We can also be reached by email at cellphone@byuh.edu

For SIM card pick-up ONLY, we may schedule you to stop by outside of our desk hours, your email will have the pick-up day and time details.

What if I place an order but my number wasn’t eligible for an upgrade?

We will inform you of your options. Your options can be where you are billed the early termination fee, pay a higher price for the phone, or be charged 3% processing fee to refund your order. We recommend that you check to be sure your line is eligible for an upgrade if you aren’t sure.

Is there an end user agreement for each carrier?

Yes, there is. The end user agreements for each of the different carriers are listed below. We recommend you taking the time to read it.

  • AT&T
  • T-Mobile
  • Verizon

How do I activate my new phone?

  • AT&T will provide a card with instructions in the box for you to go to their website to activate the phone. See AT&T's activation instructions.
  • T-Mobile customers must email cellphone@byuh.edu with the IMEI # and EID or ICCID #. This can be found on the back of the new phone box.
  • Verizon will have the phones ready to go. All you’ll need to do is turn on the phone.

How do I transfer my information from my old phone to my new phone?

What if my old phone cannot be turned on? How do I get my information from my old phone?

You can check your cloud to see if you have any information saved. It is recommended that you update your phone and have your contacts, messages, photos, videos, and etc., backed up daily or as often as possible.

Is the new phone shipped to the BYU–Hawaii Store or can I have it shipped to me or my Ohana?

It’s up to you. On the form it will ask if you want to pick-up at the BYU–Hawaii Store or have it shipped to you. You will provide the shipping information on the form.
