How do I know if I am eligible for a cellphone plan with BYUH?

If you are a current student of BYUH, you are eligible for a cellphone plan.

Do I need to identify if I am a student?

If we aren’t able to identify your eligibility through our university system, we may ask for your BYUH ID card.

Can I transfer my current number?

Yes. You will enter your carrier information on the request form.

How many lines can I setup?

You are eligible to activate up to four lines. 

I am a current student with a BYUH Cellphone plan which is being billed monthly. Can my additional line be billed monthly instead of the prepaid plan?

No. All new activations for students and their ohana are on the prepaid plan.

I am a current student with a BYUH Cellphone plan which is being billed monthly, can I change to the prepaid plan and have it charged to my student loan?

Yes. Complete the request form and be sure to select the correct option.

Is there an Activation Fee?

Yes, there is a $30.00 non-refundable activation fee for each line.

How do I pay for the prepaid plan and non-refundable activation fee?

You will be charged to your BYUH student account through the Bookstore Loan. No payment is required upfront.

What happens at the end of the four-month (semester) or two-month (term) prepaid plan?

BYUH Cellphone will email you 30 days before the end of your prepaid plan with options to renew. If the BYUH Store does not here back from you by the end of your prepaid period, your line will be canceled. There will be a $15.00 reactivation fee charge to reactivate your line.

How do I know if my cellphone is compatible to the carrier of my choice?

Before moving forward, it is recommended that you check to see if your phone is compatible. Click on the carrier below, you will need your IMEI #. To find your IMEI, dial *#06# from your phone.

How long does it take to get a SIM card?

After we have received your completed online form, we will work to activate your SIM card. This can take up to two to three business days. You will be notified by email for pickup or shipping.
